My name’s Andre Chmielewski but my students call me Mr. C.
I am an educator at North Broward Preparatory School in Florida, USA. My title is Educational DevOps Manager, the first and only to my knowledge. I spend my days thinking about the processes and systems at my school and how they could run more smoothly using both people skills and technology skills: collaboration, communication, and transparency as well as programming, automation, and systems thinking. It’s a position I helped co-create based on the ideas in the the DevOps movement and applying them to education rather than creating software. Read more about EdTech DevOps and spreading this movement into education.
Prior to this role, I taught Computer Science in the high school, including courses on cybersecurity, general computer science, and various programming languages, including Java, Python, Swift and Javascript. Before coming to North Broward Prep, I spent 15 years living and teaching abroad in Poland, where I taught subjects like English as a Foreign Language (EFL), Theory of Knowledge in the IB Diploma Programme and, of course, Computer Science. In my final year in Poland, I worked outside education as a project manager at a softare development company.
